Aerial Universe Championship is the first such competition in this part of Europe. Until 2017 the name of the championship was European Pole Show Art Championship (EPSAC), then till 2019 name was International Pole Show Art Championship (IPSAC) but in 2019 due to adding new aerial categories into this championship name changed again and is now Aerial Universe Championship.
This competition takes place in Croatia. The organizer of the competition is performing arts association "Studio I" from Zadar. Date of 6th championship is May 8 and 9, 2020. in Zagreb, Croatia.
The venue of the competition is Kino Forum, Jarunska 2, Zagreb.
The goal of the competition is to present all the beauty of art, dance and strength in the air and on the floor in a free style routine of the competitors. The competition is opened to all aerial dancers who want to promote their work and aerial dance in general.

Price of ticket: 130Kn till May 7th, 150Kn on May 8 and 9.
2 days ticket is 200Kn till May 7th, 230Kn on May 8th.

CATEGORIES OF THE CHAMPIONSHIP:

Pole dance:
- Kids (8-12 yrs of age)
- Youth (13-17 yrs of age)
- Solo women yrs of age 18-39 divided into three subcategories: New Star (those who have never participated in similar international pole dance competitions before), Semi Pro (those who already participated at similar international pole dance competition, category new star/amateur but haven't placed among first 3 places), Pro (those who already participated at similar international pole dance competition, category new star/semi pro and placed among first 3 places), Elite (those who won 1st, 2nd or 3rd place in the finals of similar pole dance competition with at least 5 competitors in Pro or Elite category before)

Three special categories are Best Art, Best Technique and Best Choreography. All competitors from pole categories enter those three categories and all competitors from lyra, silks and flying pole categories enter again. We will give prizes separate for pole and aerial dance categories.
If in some of the categories will be less then five (5) competitors organizer has a right to cancel the category and offer competing in another category to applied competitors or to give prizes for less then three (3) places.

WHAT JUDGES WILL LOOK FOR IN YOUR ROUTINE:
The judges will evaluate each performance in the areas of artistic expression, technique, execution, choreography, musicality, originality and overall flow and appearance. They will look for artistry in each choreography. Artistry can be expressed in many dance forms and story should be recognized.
OTHER RULES AND CONDITIONS:
- Sponsor of our equipment is X-Pole company
- There will be 2 poles on the stage, 4m high produced by X-Pole company. The right pole watching from the audience is spinning pole and the left one static. The distance between poles is 3 meters
- There will be 1 lyra, single point, tapped (for lyra categories) produced by X-Pole company. Competitors can decide diameter of lyra for their performance.
- There will be 1 silk produced by X-Pole company
- There will be 1 crash mat underneath Lyra, silks and hammock for Kids and Youth categories at all times. Adult may refuse it but need to sign consent form stating they perform without crash mat at their own risk
- Persons age 18 and above can enter competition. For Kids and Youth category parents or legal guardians must sign the application form and send their signed approval. Persons under 18 years of age must have an adult with them who is responsible for them (parent or coach).
- At the registration desk on the day of half final competition all the competitors have to show valid ID card or passport (legal document with photo) and health insurance approving document.
- There will be video judging prior to the finals in Zagreb, Croatia. All persons who send application file have to send also non edited video of any routine. Duration of video must not exceede 3 minutes. Videos have to be uploaded to YouTube or Vimeo channel and link needs to be sent in email to the organizer.
- The competitors have to send their music via email as mp3 link for the finals in Zagreb.
- Duration of music for the finals: between 3min 30sec and 4min for solo performances and between 4min and 5min 30sec for group performances. It will be allowed 10 sec more or less in duration of music.
- The performance may be repeated only in case of technical problems which are under organizers responsibility. In case of slipping on the pole or fall, performance can not be repeated.
- All the grip aids are allowed such as liquid chalk, chalk, dry hands, itac. Hair spray and such grip products are forbidden. All grip aids have to be described in email to the organizer prior to the finals.
- It is forbidden to use body lotions, oils, milks or body paint (except on face). Some types of body paint can be allowed on body. You have to write to the organizer and describe type of body paint and every prop you would be using. If you don't get written permission for your prop or body paint you might not be allowed to use it at the championship.
- Costumes: it is allowed to wear high heels ankle height straps, ballet or gymnastic shoes or perform barefoot. Boots and shoes with straps above ankle height are forbidden. Topless, thongs and underwear are forbidden. Men can perform topless. Gloves are forbidden except in case of medical conditions such as hyperhidratation. In this case the competitor has to email and bring to the finals a document proof from his/her doctor.
- Striptease kind of routine is forbidden and will cause disqualification.
- It is allowed to use props such as chair, hat or similar as long as they can be on and off the stage in 15 seconds. It is forbidden to use dangerous props such as fire, oil and other which can be dangerous for competitors or audience. The competitors must announce all props to the organizer via email.
- A medical staff will be at the competition.
- The competitors accept all the rules and regulations by sending the application form together with video link. They also accept possibility of taking photos and videos organized by the organizer. All photos and videos are the property of the organizer and can be used in promotional purposes for the competition.
- The competitors are not allowed to contact judges prior to the competition or during the competition.
- The decision of the judges is final.
Reasons for disqualification:
- nudity (even if it happens not intentionally - check your costumes in time)
- sexually suggestive dance style
- use of forbidden grip products, other substances or drugs
- contacting the judges panel
- rude behavior and/or talking bad in public about other competitors, judges, sponsors or organizer
Prizes:
- organizer will give medals for first three (3) places in each category
- sponsors/partners prizes
- winner and 2nd placed in each category get direct entrance to finals the next year (2021)
Organizer has a right to change rules and details of the competition at any time.
Application forms need to be filled in and signed by hand. You may send it as a photo attachment or scan and send via email between November 18th, 2019 and February 2nd, 2020 together with a short video (duration of 2-3 minutes). The video can be any, not necessary of the routine for the competition and can not be edited but filmed once from start till the end, uploaded to YouTube or Vimeo and send in a form of link.
Winners and 2nd places from Aerial Universe Championship 2019 send only application form and not a video as they have direct entrance to the finals. The final list of competitors will be announced no later then February 11th, 2020 .

Only selected competitiors who wnter finals pay the Entry Fee. Entry Fee has to be paid from member's* personal bank account (via bank transfer).
Entry Fee:
- Kids/Youth 25EUR for Members, 32EUR for others
- Solo Adult 30 EUR for members, 38EUR for others
- Doubles 50 EUR (for both) for members, 63EUR for others
- Groups 80 EUR (for a group) for Members, 100EUR for others
Entry Fee is non refundable.
